Le coaching sommeil somnio est basé sur la thérapie cognitivo-comportementale pour l’insomnie (TCC-I). De nombreuses études ont montré que la TCC-I est une méthode efficace pour traiter les troubles de l’endormissement et du maintien du sommeil (insomnie). C’est pourquoi elle figure comme méthode de traitement de premier choix selon les lignes directrices de la Société Européenne de Recherche sur le Sommeil (ESRS). Pour la création du coaching sommeil, les sources suivantes concernant la thérapie et le contenu de la TCC-I ont été utilisées.
