Get a prescription
Talk to your family doctor or psychotherapist about somnio and ask for a prescription (in paper form, not an e-prescription) for the digital health application.

Which healthcare professional can help me? There are 3 options:
Your family doctor or psychotherapist
Talk to your family doctor or your psychotherapist about your sleep problems. If you are diagnosed with insomnia they can issue a prescription for somnio.
Find a physician
You can use our search tool to find a healthcare professional who can prescribe somnio in your area.

Obtain your prescription online
You can also get a prescription for somnio from your home or while being on the go. With the help of telemedicine providers, you can get medical advice for your sleep problems fast and easy via video call.
Submit your prescription
Submit to health insurance company
Then you just need to forward your prescription to your health insurance company by post, e-mail or by using the corresponding app. Alternatively, you can upload your prescription to our website – and have somnio activated within a few days without having to worry about anything else.
Use our Prescription Transfer Service
Did you already get a prescription for somnio? Our prescription transfer service takes care of everything for you. We submit your prescription to your health insurance. The code will then be automatically sent to you.
App download and registration
Download the somnio app for free in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and log in with the data you used for registration.
After you have received your 16-digit activation code from your health insurance company (within 5-7 working days) you can register on our website for free and without obligation and activate the somnio app in just a few steps. Using our app, you can learn how to overcome your sleep problems effectively in the long term.
Get a prescription
In order to get reimbursed for somnio by your private health insurance company, you usually need a prescription or a proof of diagnosis issued by your physician or psychotherapist.
Talk to your treating healthcare professional (family doctor, specialist or psychotherapist) about your sleep problems and ask for our app on prescription (you can use our somnio info sheet for that purpose). Ask your healthcare professional for a prescription or a proof of diagnosis.
Ask for reimbursement
Before purchasing somnio, we recommend inquiring of your private health insurance company if they will cover your expenses. You can download a cost estimate to send to your private health insurance company here.
You can now send the cost estimate and your prescription / proof of diagnosis to your private health insurance company.
Activate somnio access & submit invoice
Once your private health insurance company confirmed the reimbursement, you can purchase somnio here. As soon as we have received your payment, you will be sent the activation code for somnio by e-mail. After completing the purchase, send your invoice to your health insurance company to request the reimbursement of your expenses (not applicable for self-paying patients). Self-paying patients can get somnio here.
Download the somnio app & redeem your activation code
Download somnio from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or enter app.somn.io in your web browser to register.
Insert your activation code and you can start with somnio straight away!
