Digital CBT-I with somnio reduces insomnia symptoms more effectively than digital self-monitoring

A recent randomized controlled trial confirms for the first time the effectiveness of digital sleep training with somnio compared to digital self-monitoring. The special study design is the first in Germany with an active control group and allows clear conclusions to be drawn about the specific effects of CBT-I with somnio, as the control group also uses elements of the app such as the journal. The results of the study show that digital CBT-I with somnio significantly reduces insomnia symptoms and significantly improves relevant sleep parameters.

Digital CBT-I sustainably reduces insomnia symptoms also in patients with symptoms of depression and anxiety

A recently published secondary analysis on sleep disorders in patients with conspicuous symptoms of depression and anxiety has shown that digital CBT-I with somnio not only demonstrably reduces the symptoms of insomnia itself, but can also reduce the symptoms of depression and anxiety disorder. The positive effects were still stable even after 12 months.

The randomized controlled trial conducted by Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf confirmed the effectiveness of somnio as a digital treatment for insomnia. Almost two thirds (64%) of all participants achieved clinically relevant success with somnio and were able to significantly reduce their symptoms; 41% of all participants no longer had any sleep disorders after treatment with somnio. The positive effects persisted one year after treatment (d=1.26).
